Sara,....I purchased a Clydesdale that has scratches. ...........He stands
in cross ties and usually lets me wash them;................ but he has kicked me in the stomach once ..............and ever
since then,.................. I am nervous about getting down around his feet ...............and shaving off those feathers
and washing his legs. ...................He needs it, since the weather has JUST gotten hot this afternoon and finally has
stopped raining and being damp.........................What should I use on him .............and
is shaving his feathers the best thing to do?......................He only has them on his left

you need a shoeing stock.............you
will be able to easily tie a foot up while you work on the other one..............horse will
not be able to pick up the one you are working on............... i can tell you who is the
closest to you that makes shoeing stocks.............it is usually amish folks.............if
you are close to me we can make one for you..........you can also go online to draft horse journal
.com ............please tell me where you live so i can help you...............feathers.....you do....not....need to clip them.................yes it is easier and less work ............but those feathers keep the flies off the sores..............the key is to wash the legs every day and dry the feathers 100 %............i use a blow drier............i have all this info
