my English pads

for training
i start with a smooth thick neoprene pad
closest to the horse
then i stack supporting pads
i stack alot 99 % of the time
according to the shape of the horses back
and the horizontal angle of the horses back
for example
if horse has big tall withers
you will need to lift the back of the saddle
to keep things level

i hate the feel of a wool sweater
i can only imagine what it must feel like to have one
tightened to your back-and then start to sweat
yuk

i usually layer like this
horse - neoprene pad - lift pad or foam pad
depends on the thickness of the pad closes to horse
depends on type of saddle
depends on what activity I'm about to do

western pads

smooth neoprene with vents
and close contact cutaways
i stack this

my number one favorite western pad
2 1/4 inch thick-gel neoprene
thinner models i stack

wonpad i also stack this

for showing western

i use a think neoprene pad closest to horse
then a velcro vented gel pad from scheiders
then a 34 x 38 inch show planket like these
